𧬠Duplicating Templates
Sometimes, you may find that an existing template's structure or workflow is very similar to a new one you need to create. Instead of rebuilding from scratch, Storecall allows you to duplicate any existing template β saving you time and ensuring consistency.
π Why Duplicate a Template?
Duplicating a template is useful when:
β You're creating a new version of an existing workflow
β You need to build variations for different departments or locations
β You want to preserve the structure of a tested template and simply make small adjustments
π§ How to Duplicate a Template
Navigate to the desired template Go to
Templatesand select the template you wish to copy.Scroll to the bottom of the template designer
Click the button π
Duplicate TemplateA copy of the template will be instantly created under the same category as the original. You can now rename it, adjust any fields, or modify the access and workflows.
π Permission Required
To duplicate a template, your user group must have the βTemplates: Addβ permission. If you're unable to see the Duplicate Template button, please contact your Storecall administrator.
βοΈ What Gets Duplicated?
When you duplicate a template, Storecall copies the entire template including:
π Template name and description
π§© All sections and questions
βοΈ Field settings (mandatory, scoring, file uploads, etc.)
π₯ User group access settings
π Approval or log workflows (if applicable)
π§ Pro Tip
After duplicating a template, we recommend:
Renaming the new template clearly (e.g. "Daily Store Audit β Cape Town")
Updating approvers or field access if workflows differ slightly
Testing the template with a dummy submission before rolling out to your team
